Our Story

💫 How We Met, From the Wife 👰🏾

"I met a man in a lecturer’s office… and God met me there too."
🌱 The Unexpected Meeting (LAUTECH Days)
John and I met in the most unexpected place, a lecturer’s office in my department (Dr. K.A. Babatunde known as “Daddie”) at LAUTECH. I had gone with a friend to submit an assignment. That office had always felt like a calm place, one of the few spaces on campus where I could just breathe. 🌿
That day, while helping someone with Further Maths (Tobi Omotayo), a soft-spoken young man walked in. He was kind, thoughtful, and offered us bread and akara (yes, actual food 😄). I almost declined, but something about him lingered. His heart was warm. His presence, gentle.
John asked questions, deep, intentional ones. We became reading buddies, often meeting in that same office. But as life moved on, I stopped going. We lost touch. ⏳
📆 Years Later… A Message Came
In 2023, out of nowhere, he reached out, just to wish me a happy birthday.
A sneak peek into our conversation:
John: Good afternoon, Sis. How have you been?
Bukunmi: Good morning, sir
John: Happy birthday to you
Bukunmi: Thank you
John: I wish you long life and prosperity in good health and wealth. It’s been a while
Bukunmi: Yes
💌 A Whisper on WhatsApp
30th October, 2023
I posted a picture with the caption: “A woman passionately loved by God.” 🥰😘🥳🤩
John replied:
John: Bukunmi, good morning. How have you been?
Bukunmi: Good morning. I am doing good, and you?
Then his AI responded (lol):
John: Good morning, Bukunmi. Hope you are doing great on this beautiful Monday.
I am, and you?
Bukunmi: Anything for me? 😄
The conversation continued:
John: I am excellent. You are my Oga 👑
How is work going?
Bukunmi: For where
John: For IT. Where are you in Lagos?
When he realized we were actually living close to each other, he was shocked 😮. He asked if we could connect before the year ended. I replied, “Okay bro.” 😅
🍗 Mega Chicken & The Turning Point
We didn’t meet immediately, but the connection quietly remained. Then in 2024, I reached out to wish him a happy birthday, and we finally met again. At Mega Chicken, Agidingbi, Ikeja. 🍗✨
That day changed everything.
We talked for hours, about life, purpose, and faith. John, ever curious, asked about my relationship status. I told him the truth: I was single. So was he. But he was clear about one thing:
“Let’s build friendship.”
And that’s exactly what we did.
🌟 Heaven Had Gone Ahead
What followed wasn’t just natural, it was sacred.
As we connected deeply and became more involved in each other’s lives, it became clear: this wasn’t merely our doing. God had been guiding the journey all along.
Long before we considered courting, God had been speaking to us individually. Confirming things. Aligning our hearts. Even our spiritual mentors noticed.
This wasn’t random. Heaven had gone ahead. ✨
So when we finally stepped into a relationship, it came with peace, clarity, and joy.
💖 This Is Only the Beginning…
Thank you for stepping into our story.
This is just one chapter of #AbbasDelight25, our joyful unfolding.

💫 How We Met, From the Husband 🤵🏾

“It started with bread and akara (Bean Cake). But truly, it started with God.”
I walked into a familiar lecturer’s office at LAUTECH, Dr. K.A. Babatunde’s space, popularly known as “Daddie”, not knowing I was about to meet someone who would one day become my wife.
There she was, focused and graceful, helping a friend’s brother, Tobi Omotayo, with Further Maths. He had come to Ogbomoso to prepare for JAMB. She carried a quiet confidence, the kind that makes you pause.
I offered LAUTECH bread and akara (a classic campus combo 😄), and she smiled. That moment lodged itself in my memory.
We began talking. I asked questions. Many. Not to impress her, but because something in me longed to know her. We became reading buddies, meeting often in that same office. But then, life happened. She stopped coming, and contact faded.
Fast forward to 2023. I sent her a birthday message, no strings, just a nudge. We found out we were both living in Lagos. Busy schedules meant we didn’t meet, but the spark? It lingered.
Then in 2024, she messaged me on my birthday. And that message became a doorway.
We met at Mega Chicken in Agidingbi, Ikeja. That meeting changed everything.
We talked for hours, about faith, life, vision, and calling. I asked if she was in a relationship. She wasn’t. Neither was I. But I wasn’t just looking for someone. I wanted friendship because of the alignment I sensed. So I said, “Let’s build friendship.”
And we did.
Our friendship felt so divine, like we never lost touch. We had a déjà vu moment when she asked a question about my life’s assignment and purpose. To our surprise, we both had the exact same words for it. She even took a screenshot, she was that stunned. That moment further strengthened our connection.
We connected so deeply and explored events together. What felt ordinary was actually divine choreography.
God had been speaking to both of us, separately, long before we reconnected. Through Scriptures, mentors, peace, and conviction, He was already writing the script.
We didn’t just fall in love. We grew into it. With clarity. With intention. With God at the center of it all.
Now, we’re stepping into marriage, not just as lovers, but as a partnership in purpose, anchored in faith and divine assignment.
It started with bread and akara…
But truly, it started with God. 💍❤️
